You raise many good points. We recently read another article at http://www.endgamepr.com/blog/2007/08/08/google-appears-to-have-banned-reciprocal-linking/ which similarly discusses that Google no longer values reciprocal linking. This seems quite silly. If someone thinks a site is worthy of linking to it should count towards page ranking. However, there are plenty of valuable straight links available on the web.

I so agree the quality of your website matters. It is a good policy to periodically Google or other search engine search your website. You don't want erroneous information circulating. We spoke to a client recently. A website had them in the wrong category for their company. They started receiving very strange phone calls. A little search engine investigating showed why. Another client had the wrong fax number listed on their website. A simple error that can cause profit loss to the company if important documents are not received.

We would like to remind everyone to proof their web content periodically and run a search engine test for their company. Hopefully this will assist you in driving proper traffic to your company and therefore raising company profits.
