Great post, only thing i have found is that though most soldering jobs are basically the same it takes experience and patience to get a high success rate, i would reccommend practising on some old boards before offering it as a service, since most work these days is no fix no fee. just get as good as you can before you go the whole hog.

Getting a new DC Socket on a laptop is never the hard part well its not for me. Its getting inside the different laptops now that really is the fun part.
